The village has a rich history running from Neolithic times through the Roman period and is particularly noted for retaining it’s characteristic medieval field system.

Chelmorton is an ideal base for visitors as it is in easy reach of all the well known attractions of the Peak District national Park and provides excellent walking and cycling opportunities.
